In this Clash Royale strategy guide, you will learn how to properly place troops to win battles.
Clash Royale is a game all about efficiently managing your resources whilst beating your opponent.
It’s basically chess without the black and white and with way better characters. And just like chess your victory isn’t really determined by how many troops you killed but it’s rather more dependent on how you’ve placed your troops in order to squeeze out the sweet juice of victory.
So how exactly would you place your troops to emerge victorious considering you don’t know your opponents’ cards or their level ?
Well the answer is twofold, one side for defense and the other for offense

How often does it happen that the opponent comes charging down at you with a really big bunch of troops?
If you are like most of the players, you might say that it takes quite a lot of elixir to stop them from destroying your tower. At times, you end up spending elixir at an alarming rate and you might also lose your tower.
So what to do?
1) If you see a bunch of enemy troops heading for your tower instead to facing them toe to toe what you should do is place ranged troop like archers behind your tower. This way your troops inflict a great deal of damage without being attacked as the enemy troop would be busy attacking your tower. This way your tower might take a few hits but the elixir saved would make up for it as you are now ready for a counter attack
2) Similar scenario but this time your arsenal is running dry. Your elixir is just not filling fast enough so how would you defend your tower now? Simple, place cheap troops like the skeleton right in front of your middle tower. I prefer to call this area as the kill zone. This way the enemy troops will move to attack the skeleton and won’t approach the tower. Also in order attack your skeletons they will end up being in range for all three of you towers meaning they’ll be in for a massacre.
3) If you don’t like the idea of your enemy’s troops marching right towards your “defenseless” tower this tip is for you. Use bomb tower and Teslas (also other towers) to build a base. With a good base, you can destroy the enemy army right before it gets to your tower.
4) How about going eye for an eye with the exception of losing your eye? Sounds cool right? Real easy to do that. If there an army dancing down the lane heading for your tower place a giant(or any card with high hp) and then place a wizard(or and high damage card preferably ranged)right behind the giant.This will get the enemy troops to attack your giant leaving your wizard all free to destroy them. The duo will also go ahead and so some serious damage to the enemy tower (because of the same principle)
5) During the last minute when the elixir is filling at 2x the rate, following the above tips might get a little too overrated and slow. You might not want to use them as every second count now. So use your spells and fireball and rocket(might also use poison) the enemy troops. This is a rather direct method for defense useful when you have plenty of elixirs.
If you to defensive you might not be able to get enough damage done to squeeze victories.
Strategy Guide on Troop Placement in Clash Royale for Attacking
1) If you are planning to crush your enemy in the very first minute it may not be a very good idea as you will need a heavy attack to get that done which means spending too much elixir leaving nothing to defend yourself from the enemies counter attack .so don’t be too eager to attack. If you have to attack start off weak(use cheap cards like skeletons). Also, help you understand your opponent’s strategy.
2) If you don’t like spilling too much blood, take a giant (or any high hp card) backed by a high damage card and place them right in front of the tower to want to be leveled.
3) Want to inflict extreme damage? Place cheap cards (for eg skeletons) at the you don’t wish to attack. Then poison the unguarded tower and launch a pekka or prince right at it.(art of deception)
4) For the last minute attack ,when you have full elixir, poison or rocket(I prefer poison) the enemy tower and the place to hog for it (other fast moving cards work too).
5) If you like the idea of marching down at your enemy , use a skeleton swarm( or any cheap one) and place a pekka right in the middle of it (other cards work but with a pekka their speed matches. This way you protect you pekka who will take the tower down.
